Types of Membership

Full Adult Membership

Full Members pay national dues plus their state charter dues. This membership provides full competitive privileges, including eligibility for State Championships, the World Tournament, and all sanctioned leagues and events. A portion of each adult membership supports the World Tournament prize fund. The National portion of dues is $25 but the State portion may vary depending on your state of residency.

Provisional Membership

Provisional Members pay a reduced national fee and may participate in sanctioned leagues and tournaments from their first entry through the end of the calendar year. They may upgrade to Full Membership at any time by paying the remaining dues. Provisional Members receive an NHPA membership number for tracking but cannot vote or represent their charter. Provisional memberships are only available to first year members.

Trial Membership

Trial Members may enter one sanctioned league or tournament at no cost (other than the event’s entry fee). Trial participation is designed for newcomers exploring the sport. Trial Members do not receive reported statistics and are not eligible for voting or charter representation. Trial memberships are only available to first year members.

Junior & Cadet Membership

Junior and Cadet pitchers enjoy significantly reduced dues and full access to all sanctioned youth tournaments and leagues. Age eligibility follows NHPA rules and classifications.

How Membership Is Managed

Membership cards are issued through state charter secretaries once both national and state dues are paid or through purchase on eShoe. Charters report membership and dues to the NHPA quarterly. Individuals living in states without an active charter may join directly through the NHPA Secretary/Treasurer.
