About the NHPA
The NHPA is a federation of fifty four (54) charters in the United States, each with numerous club affiliates and individual members. Each charter is self governing. Some states have more than one charter.
Our Purpose
The NHPA strives to promote and organize the sport and to standardize the rules, equipment and playing procedures. The top priority is to serve as a unifying agent between state associations, local clubs, unorganized groups and individual players. The NHPA sanctions the Annual World Tournament, state association tournaments, regional and open events and a league program.

A Family Sport
Horseshoe pitching boasts of being one of the few sports that has a national champion for men, women, boys and girls and can still be played in one’s backyard. It can be played by one or more and by the young as well as the old.
World Championships!
The NHPA World Horseshoe Pitching Championships is an annual event that brings together the nation's top horseshoe pitchers and competitors of all skill levels to compete for world titles in various divisions and classes. The 2027 World Tournament will be held in Kennewick, Washington, welcoming pitchers from across the country and beyond. The NHPA also recognizes longtime participants with World Participation Patches, awarded to pitchers who have competed in 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, or 60 World Tournaments.
