State Championships are the highest level of competition within each NHPA charter and serve as the gateway to the World Tournament. Every charter hosts an NHPA-sanctioned State Championship each year, showcasing the best pitchers across Men’s, Women’s, Junior, and Elder divisions. In states with multiple charters, the event rotates to ensure fair access and statewide participation.
Structured Divisions & Fair Competition
State Championships are designed to crown true division champions. Events must offer at least Men’s, Women’s, Junior, and Elder divisions, with additional divisions added at the discretion of tournament officials. Each division’s champion is determined by non-handicapped play, preserving the integrity of State titles.
Eligibility & Residency Requirements
State-level play is reserved for NHPA Full Members who meet their charter’s eligibility rules. Pitchers may compete in only one State Championship per year, ensuring fairness and competitive balance. Active-duty military members and their immediate families may compete in the state where they are stationed or reside, provided they meet all other requirements. All sanctioned State events must offer opportunities for both full-distance and short-distance pitchers, ensuring equal opportunities for all!
