Jerry Smith, California

Jerry joined the NHPA in Northern California in 1985 and served as the charter Secretary-Treasurer for over ten years and then relocated to Idaho 2003 and served that same position there for over ten years. He also served as the charter statistician in both states for close to 20 years total. He began working the stat room at the World Tournament in 2010 and was appointed the NHPA Third Vice President in 2015 and remains in that position. Jerry was awarded an NHPA Achievement Award in 2012. He has been on the NHPA Hall of Fame Committee since 2013. He was elected to the NORCAL Hall of Fame in 1999 and the Idaho HOF in 2018. He has written two historical books about horseshoe pitching and was appointed NHPA’s Historian in 2019. He currently sits on the NHPF Board of Directors.
