Organizer: Archie Gregson of Crestline, California, served both as Secretary and as President of the NHPA at various times dating back to 1940. His contributions to the game were many and varied as player, administrator, organizer, tournament director and master of ceremonies. Along with his wife, Katie, they formed the most-valuable husband-wife team in the history of the game. At the time of his death, Archie still maintained and active interest in the game and was regarded as the NHPA’s elder statesman.
