ALAN FRANCIS, Missouri & Ohio

Inducted 1996

Player: Alan Francis is still accumulating victories and statistics that place at or near the top in every World Tournament category.  His career began in Missouri as he won four consecutive Junior Boy’s World Championship from 1982 to 1985.  He had a 42-2 won – lost record over the four years and average 88.8% ringers in the 1985 event.  He won five Junior State titles and ten consecutive Missouri Men’s State titles 1986-1995, before moving to Ohio in 1995 and has won many more State Championships there.  No one could have anticipated how dominating Alan would be in the World Tournament competition.  Even though he had won several Junior titles, he had that strange ¾ reverse turn shoe and who could ever perfect that.  Alan won his first Men’s World title in 1989 and has won 24 more World Men’s title since then and is still counting.  No Individual has dominated a division for so long as Alan has in the Men’s Division.  In 2021, Alan won his record breaking ninth consecutive championship which broke his own record of 8 straight.  He won 134 games while losing just one in that streak.
