Next Stop: South Africa

by Gary B. Roberts, 1st Vice President, By-Laws, Rules and Grievance Director

On March 24, 2017, Gary Roberts, Kevin Lewis, and Seth Ohms will depart for South Africa. The flight from Atlanta to Johannesburg takes approximately seventeen hours! We will have a few days for tourist activities. Current plans are to visit Cape Town and Kruger National Park. It would be nice to spend more time in this beautiful country.

During the second week, we will be in Kroonstad, South Africa to participate in the Jukskei Championships at Jukskei Park. We will also put on horseshoe demonstrations along with participation by the South African and Namibian players.

In addition to promoting horseshoe pitching, our goal is to invite both Namibia and South Africa to return to St. George to participate in the 2017 World Tournament. Their presence at the tournament would be very exciting.

It is important to note that the NHPA is not supporting the cost of this trip in any way. Each traveler must pay his own expenses.

We will be sure to post pictures of our adventures.
