Seeking Bidders for 2019

by Tina Hawkins, 2nd Vice President and Publicity/Promotion Director

The 2016 World Tournament is in the books… That means it’s time to start seeking bidders for 2019!

Yes, it really does happen that far in advance. This time of year, representatives from the NHPA Executive Council begin attending sports conferences, promoting our World Tournament and seeking qualified bidders to host our event.

Conferences, such as Connect, TEAMS and S.P.O.R.T.S exist for the sole purpose of bringing sporting planners and CVB’s (Convention and Visitors Bureaus) together in hopes of creating the perfect match between events and venues. Some of our greatest World Tournament hosts came out of the relationships cultivated at such gatherings.

However, that is not the ONLY place a great World Tournament host can be found. There might be one right in your charter or even your own hometown.

If you are one of the many pitchers who have said, “When are you going to bring World to MY state?” the answer is, WHEN YOU WIN THE BID FOR IT! And, of course, the first step toward winning the bid is MAKING the bid.

Gain the support of your charter and devise a plan to convince a CVB in your area that they need to host the NHPA’s premier event. All the venue and contract requirements can be obtained just by asking.

To start your quest to become an NHPA World Tournament host site, email NHPA 2nd Vice President, Tina Hawkins, for bidder requirements and contract information.
