Charter to Officer Communications – Email Updates

by Jerry LaBrosse, 4th Vice President, Charter Communications Director

Every year the NHPA Executive Council holds a winter board meeting. This usually takes place in January, as it is this year again. The meeting has a very lengthy agenda, and we need to stay busy and focused for two long days to get through it all. Many important issues are discussed and voted on. Some of the topics we talk about are the budget, the world tournament, promotion, business matters of all kinds, Rules and Bylaws, Game Related Sales, IT development, and more.

The Council members are always available to listen to questions, concerns, and ideas from the membership. If it is a matter that needs to be brought to the Council’s attention at the winter meeting, it needs to get on the agenda. So contact the appropriate officer if you have something you feel needs to be discussed at this important meeting.

I’d like to share a few thoughts regarding email addresses for our national distribution list. First of all, this list is used strictly for one purpose, and that is to communicate with the NHPA membership and prospective members. This is done only through Newsline Magazine, and E-blasts. All shared email addresses are protected and never shared with anyone.

There are some charters that have their communications person on the NHPA list, and then that person forwards it on to their charter list. I can tell you that I have no problem with this arrangement whatsoever. As long as the information reaches its destination, I’m happy.

The only thing I want to remind folks to do is update our list whenever you have new addresses to share. Send your list in any format to our Newsline editor at newsline@horseshoepitching.com. You can send the entire list, even if you just have a few new members, the Constant Contact program will not duplicate addresses.

Also, please encourage your members to simply forward the Newsline email to friends and anyone who may be interested in our sport. We can all chip in with a few simple clicks and use this powerful tool for the promotion of our great sport.
