Your Hall of Fame

by Casey Sluys, President, National Horseshoe Pitchers Foundation

It is possible that NHPA members have not heard that the association has a great Hall of Fame, located in the center of the country.  We have attempted in the past few years to disseminate information about this beautiful facility in Wentzville, Missouri.  Did you know that there are key members in your charter that have an informational brochure about the Hall of Fame and the organization that was established to ensure its survival?  Or you can request one from us. That organization is the NHPF the National Horseshoe Pitchers Foundation.  Have you spoken to your fellow pitchers about the Hall of Fame?  Have you stopped by on your way to any of the World Tournaments in the last few years?

During our annual meeting this year, we hope to draw up some long term plans things like a 5, 10 and perhaps a 20-year plan. Some of those plans have to do with a facility aspect of keeping the building looking great. It is incumbent on us to ensure that this facility remains in great shape as it has for the past 10 years. Yes folks, it’s been 10 years since the dedication and grand opening of the NHPA Hall of Fame.  In October is the actual anniversary of that date.  During this meeting we will also discuss how we will be able to assist with a possible set of educational criteria to assist clubs and charters in their quest for new members.

If you have not visited the Hall of Fame in a few years then you are missing out on some wonderful displays.  You read in the last issue of Newsline about how Bob Rogers keeps the displays current and fresh.  Bob is certainly a key figure in keeping this facility looking very professional.

If you are one of the NHPA members who have not sent a donation in for a few years, won’t you please consider contributing again?  Your donations will ensure that our great facility will endure for the future of all horseshoe pitchers.
