Act Like a Tourist

by Tina Hawkins, 2nd Vice President and Publicity/Promotion Director

People take vacations and go on trips every day and many have the desire to "blend in," so they won't look like a tourist.

Well... What's wrong with looking like a tourist?

Okay. So you don't want to stand on a street corner, holding a map trying to figure out which way to walk...but you DO want to tell people why you are in town!

Specifically, the Montgomery area businesses. Many of them have made large contributions toward getting the NHPA to come to town and they need to know their investments are paying off.

Mention the reason for your visit to your server when you go for dinner; the checker at the grocery store, the desk clerk at your hotel...Are you planning to take in a movie or play a round of golf? How about visit the Hank Williams Museum or take a Segway tour?

When you participate in any of these activities - let the provider know "the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association has come to town."

The more they see us and hear about us, the more they will want us back in the future.
