Ralph Dykes Receives Stokes Award
"NHPA President Ralph Dykes received the annual Arch Stokes Award for his outstanding contribution to the welfare of the game on the national level.

This year's award was bestowed on Ralph Dykes by a vote of the members and delegates at the NHPA convention in Keene. Former winners Ottie Reno and Elmer Beller handled voting procedures and the formal presentation of the award.

President Dykes' contributions to the game have been many and varied. He has served for many years as president of the Illinois State Association. As NHPA President hew designed and made the huge board to register qualifying scores, the new qualifying scoring devices used for the first time this year. Ralph also provided the mountings and name plate holders for the game scoring devices now used by the NHPA which were made by Vern Fuller of battle creek, Michigan.
