Harold and Mary Craig, Indiana

Awarded 1960

Stokes Award To Harold and Mary Craig "Harold and Mary Craig, a husband and wife team who are the backbone of the Muncie Horseshoe Club, were awarded the Stokes Memorial Trophy given annually to the person who has contributed the most to the game of horseshoe during the past year. Mrs. Stokes made the trip to Muncie to attend the tournament and present the award.

Harold and Mary have been busy in the activities of the Muncie Club, the Indiana State Association and in promoting the World Tournament for the past year and it is hard to picture anyone doing more actual work in promoting the game.

Bob Pence, NHPA Secretary-Treasurer had the following to say about the award: "The NHPA thanks for the fine facilities at Muncie and the promotion of the World Tournament must of course go to the entire Muncie Horseshoe Club who have collectively done a fine job, but if individual credit is given to any individuals it could only go to Harold and Mary Craig."
