Aleena Lepek, Wisconsin
Alena was the NHPA’s Junior Director from 2012
to 2019 and was appointed a couple years after winning the Girl’s World
Championship. She knew what kids wanted, what they needed, and how to get
them focused on horseshoe pitching while having fun. She was the perfect
fit for the job and never disappointed ether the kids or the NHPA. She
constantly promoted the junior division and the pitcher’s loved her as their
siblings couldn’t wait to get involved in the program. She took her
position personally and made the WT experience fun for all skill levels while
assisting those high-level pitchers who were seriously attempting to achieve
their goals of being World Champions. Here are some original or re-boots
of idea and practices that she implemented: she started the first social media
page for Juniors, Cadets and their parents, she supplied Regional Directors
with ideas for holding tournaments to help get more kids involved, she became
an adult advocate for the juniors and cadets to bridge pitcher’s wants and
needs, to the NHPA council, and she brought back “Junior Highlight” articles
and got them shared with local schools.
