CLIVE WAHLIN, Utah

Clive had the good fortune to grow up in Salt Lake City right when the World Tournaments were held in Murray, Utah.  In 1952, Wahlin won the AAU National Junior Championship and by 1954 he qualified for the Men's Championships Class in the World Tournament.  He accomplished that 9 times, winning 156 games which is 51st on the All-Time Wins List.  Over his final seven events, he averaged 76.49%.  He finished in 4th place in 1958 and 6th in 1959.  Wahlin also was Utah State Champion 16 times, his first title in 1956 and final title in 1978.  Our sport was blessed when at the age of 85; Clive Wahlin threw out the first pitch at the 2013 World Tournament being held in his home state of Utah.  Clive passed away later that year.
