Player: Marines “Pop” Tamboer was in born in 1904 and went on the win 11 Kansas State Championships, 1944-1946, 1950-1954, 1962, 1965 and 1980 at age 76.  Marines first qualified for the Men’s Championship Class at the 1947 World Tournament and had a career of 15 appearances, winning 286 games with a career ringer average of 74.11%.  In 1951 and 1952 he finished 3rd and 4th with identical 29-6 records.  Marines passed away August 23, 1999, at age 95.
