Organizer: Jack Springer served several years as Secretary-Treasurer for the North Carolina Association and for 26 years was the Director of Parks and Recreation for Statesville. He was instrumental in hosting the 1979 and 1983 World Tournaments in Statesville and initiated the Dogwood Festival Tournament, one of the nation’s largest open tournaments and is still an active event. Jack Springer passed away December 6, 1991.
