STAN MANKER, Lynchburg, Ohio

Player: Stan began playing horseshoes at age 22, in 1927, in Lynchburg, Ohio.  By 1942, he was the Ohio AAU State Champion and placed third at the National AAU Tournament.  In 1948 he organized the Wilmington, Ohio Club, which became the longest running club in the state.  Stan won the Ohio State Champion in 1955.  He qualified for the Men’s Championship Class at 11 World Tournaments.  Stan won five Senior Men’s World Championships, 1971, 1974, 1975, 1978 and 1979.  Stan is also well known for distributing the Ohio horseshoes for over 40 years.
